Silk Cut cigarettes got their name for a reason. These smokes featuring the pack with the brand name on the purple square are known as a low tar brand and even contained 25% of the Cytrel tobacco substitute when they were invented. Silk Cut gave up on Cytrel, but the tar content still remains very low.
For instance, Silk Cut Silver cigarettes contain only 1 mg of tar and 0.1 mg nicotine. Have we mentioned that these smokes produced by the Gallaher Group also contain a low amount of nicotine? The low nicotine content is attributed to a special filter which has more holes than regular filters and is better at mixing the smoke with air.
